Evan Labruyere, a gifted musician, 54, of Desloge, passed away peacefully on May 1, 2026. Born on January 18, 1972, in Farmington, he was the son of Pat LaBruyere and Judy (Simmons) LaBruyere. Evan was a craftsman, and beloved family man, leaving behind a legacy of creativity, generosity, and quiet joy.
He was preceded in death by his father, Patrick “Pat” LaBruyere.
Evan was known for his deep love of music, which served as both his passion and his voice. Whether he was writing, playing, or simply sharing a song with others, he had a way of connecting with people that words alone could never quite capture. His creativity extended beyond music—Evan found joy in making thoughtful, handmade gifts for those he cared about, each one a reflection of his generous spirit and attention to detail.
He found peace in the outdoors, especially while fishing or camping, where he could slow down, reflect, and enjoy the simple beauty of nature. Above all, Evan cherished his family. His greatest joy was his grandson, Declan, who brought him immeasurable pride and happiness. The bond they shared was something truly special, and Evan’s love for him will remain a lasting part of Declan’s life.
Evan is survived by mother, Judy LaBruyere; daughter, Kaylin LaBruyere; son, Ian LaBruyere; grandson, Declan Dallas; brother Joe LaBruyere and fiancé Aslhey Dunlap, nieces and nephews, Claudia and husband Drew Shulte, and Emilia Labruyere. Other family members and friends also survive.
Visitation will be held at C.Z. Boyer and Son Funeral Home in Desloge, Thursday, May 7, 2026, from 4:00 PM until the service time of 6:00 PM, with Pastor Peter Norton officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of C.Z. Boyer Funeral Home in Desloge.
