Evelyn "Evie" Payton

Evelyn “Evie” Payton passed from this life into the arms of Jesus on Saturday, July 12, 2025. In life, Evie was an active member of Covenant Bible Church until her health began to fail. She cherished close friendships and enjoyed fellowship there. Evie shared her love of music and life by playing the piano and organ. She was self-taught, never reading music and playing by ear and from memory.

In her younger days, Evie loved and helped raise a little boy named Ty, whose family lived on adjoining property. She became a surrogate mother to him, and he became her son. Evie is survived by Ty, his wife Marijo, and their three children Brayden, Sarah, and Olivia. Evie also formed a close family bond with Jaime and David Brown and their children Alexandra, Collin, Gabriel, Davin, and Aden.

Evie is preceded in death by her parents, Henry and Grace (Owens) Tesreau, and her siblings, Bill and Barbara.

She is survived by cousins, nephews, and niece. The Braddy family is especially grateful to Ellisville Rehabilitation and Nursing and Unity Hospice for their loving and compassionate care of Evie.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, July 26, 2025 from Noon until 2:00 PM at the C.Z. Boyer & Son Funeral Home – Taylor Chapel in Farmington.
