Franklin Delano Atkinson Sr. of Dauphin Island, Alabama passed away May 14, 2019 in Mobile, Alabama at the age of 85 years. He was born September 5, 1933 in Annapolis, Missouri the son of the late Eldred and Freda (Casteel) Atkinson. On October 10, 1952 he was united in marriage to Virgie Lucille Henson. She survives and resides on Dauphin Island. To this union three children were born; Frank D. Atkinson Jr. and wife Melissa of St. Louis, Missouri, Carol A. Arthur (proceeds him in death) and husband, John, and Karen Tafra and husband, Mike of Dauphin Island, Alabama. Frank is also survived by his brother; William Atkinson and wife Patricia of St. Louis, Missouri, his sister; Mattie Ann Evans of Potosi, Missouri; grandchildren Joshua M. Arthur (Ann), Jennifer R. Winschel (Kevin), Lindsey N. Kraemer (Mark) all of St. Louis, Missouri, Michael A. Tafra Jr., Marie C. Sisk (Haden), Mitchell L. Tafra all of Dauphin Island and John T.
