Freddie Clarence Young of Fredericktown, Missouri passed away at his home on February 6, 2024 at the age of 79 years. He was born May 16, 1944 in Ironton, Missouri the son of the late Clarence Edward and Jewell (West) Young. On September 27, 1961 he was united in marriage to Virginia Lee Chronister who preceded him in death on November 24, 2022. To this union seven children were born: Steve Young (Robin) of DeSoto, Missouri, Freddie Young (Kelly) of Festus, Missouri, Dennis Young of Fredericktown, Missouri, Chris Young (Karla) of Doniphan, Missouri, Becky Fox (Ray) who preceded him, Clifford Young who died in infancy, and Scott Young of Fredericktown, Missouri. A sister, Mary Ann Reed (the late Ray) of Ironton, Missouri survives as do twelve grandchildren, numerous great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends. Freddie was also preceded in death by his brother, Eddie Young (the late Evelyn) and two grandsons. Freddie served our country in the United States Army. He was a member of the Church of the Narrow Gate in Bonne Terre. Freddie loved to fish and hunt. He enjoyed tinkering will all types of mechanics. Most of all he enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren. Funeral services will be held on Monday, February 12, 2024 at 1:00 p.m. with Pastor Rick Steinc officiating. Visitation will begin at 11:00 a.m. prior to the service. Interment will be at Polk Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Polk Cemetery Association.
