Frederick "Jake" Schlick

USMC Lance Cpl. (Ret) Frederick Jake Schlick, age 87, passed away on Friday, November 28, 2025, at Prairie View Skilled Nursing in Bloomfield. Jake was born on Tuesday, March 11, 1947, to the late Frederick and Laverne (Sass) Schlick. Jake was born and raised in Jersey City, New Jersey and served his country in the United States Marine Corps during the Vietnam War, exemplifying courage and commitment. Jake received the National Defense Service Medal, Vietnamese Service Medal, Vietnamese Campaign Medal and the Purple Heart Medal. He went on to work at Lakehurst Federal Credit Union where he retired.

Funeral Mass will be held 10:00 AM Wednesday, December 17, 2025, at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Park Hills with Rev Larry Huber officiating. Burial to follow at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery in St. Louis. Arrangements under the direction of C.Z. Boyer & Son Funeral Home in Desloge.
