Freeda Mae Parker Lashley passed away Thursday June 7, 2018 at Meadowbrook Residential Care in Pilot Knob. She was born in Arcadia on July 10,1922 the youngest child of Alonzo and Laura (Crownover) Parker. She attended the Red School on Marble Creek. On September 2, 1939 she married Mont Lashley. He preceded her in death on February 28, 2004.
She worked at the shirt factory in Arcadia and later at Brown Shoe Factory in Ironton. She was a longtime member of Marble Creek United Baptist Church. She loved to sing gospel songs both at church and in a gospel quartet with Mont, her brother Gay, and his wife Eula.
She was a gracious hostess and a good cook always willing to serve her extended family of brothers, sisters, nephews, and nieces. Lemon meringue pie and strawberry-rhubarb cobbler were her specialties. She enjoyed sewing and crocheting afghans for many of us.
She was preceded in death by all of her siblings - Vernon, Roy, Paul, Russell, Gay, Jessamine, Hilda, and an infant Joy. She leaves two...
