Garry "Joe" Hartwick of Ironton, MO passed away September 24, 2014 at his residence at the age of 59 years, 10 months, and 28 days. He was born October 26, 1954 in Ironton, MO the son of the late Henry Edward Hartwick and Lillian Delores Inman Hartwick of Ironton, MO. On August 10, 1974 he was united in marriage to the love of his life Carla Jean Bone who survives. To this union four children were born; Garry Paul Hartwick and wife Sarah of Roselle, MO, Larry Joe Hartwick and wife Amanda of Ironton, MO, Carrie Jean Sellers and husband Jeremy of Ironton, MO, and Darla Lillian Hahn and husband Shawn of Ironton, MO. Also surviving is Buddy Chappell and wife, Jami who Joe treated like his own son. Four brothers survive; James Hartwick, Curtis Hartwick, Paul Hartwick, and Tony Hartwick all of Ironton, MO and four sisters survive; June "Sis" Cabey of Tuscumbia, MO, Patricia Glaskey of Belleview, MO, Teresa Rennie of Ironton, MO, and Paula Sue Pitts of Ironton, MO. In addition to his brothers and sisters, Joe is survived by nine granddaughters and and one grandson as well as a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends. Joe was preceded in death by his father, Henry Edward Hartwick, a brother, Henry Lee Hartwick, and two sisters; Janice McCarron and Joyce Ann Hartwick. Joe was a 1973 graduate of Arcadia Valley High School. He was a retired carpenter and was a member of Local 916. He was a musician who enjoyed playing the saxophone and guitar. He was a workaholic who worked many, many long hours. He was proud, passionate, caring and loving. A strong, hard working man who opened his home to many. He loved his family and helping people and never expected anything in return. He was baptized at and was a member of Bethany Baptist Church.
