Gary Don Powell

Mr. Gary Don Powell passed away late Saturday morning, September 1, 2012, at his Doe Run residence at the age of 62 years, 4 months & 13 days. Gary was born April 18, 1950, in Hobbs, New Mexico, to the late Opal Gordon Powell & Mary Katherine (Ward) Powell.

Gary served his country in the United States Army during which he served two tours in the Vietnam War. He was a member of The American Legion, VFW and member of the Church of Christ in Medina, Texas.

Gary is survived by his wife, Norma (Jones) Powell, of Doe Run. 2 Daughters: Christina (Mrs. Joel) Boyer, of Albuquerque, NM and Londa (Mrs. Mitch) Collier, of Durant, OK. 5 Sons: Jason Rippetoe, of Fenton, MO; Ronnie (& Billie) Maples, of Ironton; Chance Powell; Lance (& Amy) Powell; and Wade Powell, all of Durant, OK. 12 Grandchildren. Twin-Sister: Gail (Mrs. Paul) Stiles, of Pampa, TX; Half-Sister: Joyce (Mrs. Darrell) Brigman, of Mt. Vernon, MO; Half-Brother: Jerry Gariepy, of Mt. Vernon, MO. Mother-In-Law: Hazel Jones, of Doe Run. Several Nieces; Nephews and friends. Also, special Sister-In-Law, (RN) Linda (Mrs. Bob) Rohde.

Visitation : Wednesday, 5-8 p.m. Visitation resumes Thursday @ 6:30 a.m.

Funeral : Thursday, 1:00 p.m., September 6, 2012

at : TAYLOR Funeral Service CHAPEL, with Rev. Charles Schrum officiating

Interment With Full Military Honors at : Pendleton Cemetery - Doe Run, Missouri
