Gary Mcgee

Gary McGee, 73, of Desloge passed away Saturday, December 26, 2015 at his home. He was born June 17, 1942 in Wortham to the late Orville and Zelda McGee and later served his country in The United States Army.   Gary wrote a book called “Eight Years Under The Mast” about spending 8 years sailing around the world. He loved horse racing and playing golf with his friends. Gary would take many trips to Collinsville to visit his High School friends that he has kept in touch with, over the years. His pride and joy was his 1973 MG, which he spent several hours working on in his garage.

            Gary is survived by his beloved wife, Barbara Gail McGee, two step daughters, Stephanie and Helene; one sister, Patricia Stewart; two grandchildren, Daniel and Stephan; and two great grandchildren, Audrey and Mason; one sister-in-law, Jean Kassin.

            Gary’s request, was for his family and close friends, to celebrate his life privately. Arrangements are under the direction of C.Z. Boyer and Son Funeral Home in Desloge.
