Gary Earl Sutterfield

Gary Earl Sutterfield was born March 27th, 1949, and departed this life June 16th, 2026, at the age of 77 years. He is survived by his wife, Sharyl Sutterfield of Farmington, MO; daughter, Kelly Thompson of Farmington, MO; sons Mikell Sutterfield of Huachuca City, AZ, Terrel Hollinger of Fredericktown, MO, and Jerrel Hollinger of Farmington, MO; and one sister, Beverly Jean (Dee) Pratt of St. Louis, MO. He was preceded in death by his mother, Helen Hughes Sutterfield; and father, Loren Eugene Sutterfield.

He served in the US Navy from October 1967 until his honorable discharge in August of 1971 as a Boiler Tech on the USS Francis Marion. He then worked for and retired from the Department of Mental Health in 2000.

Gary was a member of the Farmington Lodge 132 AF & AM; a life member of the Amvets Post 113, Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 2426, and Jefferson City Elks Lodge 513; Swords of Bunker Hill Lead Belt Order No. 83; and Past Patron of Mineral Chapter 260 Order of Eastern Star in Desloge.

There will be no funeral, per Mr. Sutterfield’s request. Memorial donations can be made to the American Heart Association. A celebration of life is being planned and will be held at a later date.
