It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Genevieve Rae Berry-Jensen, who was welcomed into eternal rest on Friday, February 6, 2026, at the age of 97. Genevieve was a resident of League City, Texas. She was born on Wednesday, October 16, 1928, in Williamsville, Missouri to the late James Elliott and Lora (Bowman) Ferguson.
She was preceded in death by her parents, James Elliott and Lora (Bowman) Ferguson, first husband Archie Berry, second husband, Grant Jensen, and son in- law, Marshall Friedman.
Genevieve cherished her roles as a mother and grandmother, leaving behind her devoted daughters, Victoria Andrews and husband Keith, (League City TX.) Mary Friedman, (Jerusalem, Israel), Margaret Houck and husband David (Sioux Falls, SD.); Her stepchildren, Gail Jones (Farmington, MO.), Rob Jensen and wife Carole, (Houston, TX), Scott Jensen and wife Patti, (Seabrook, TX.), Andy Jensen, (Cross Lanes, WA.), and Lucinda Ward and husband Tommy, (Sandstone, W. VA.); fifteen grandchildren; thirty- one great grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren. Along with many other family members. Her family was her pride and joy, the cornerstone of her life, reflecting the profound love she fostered throughout her years.
A world traveler, Genevieve embraced experiences that broadened her horizons, from her time as a dedicated registered nurse to her inspiring mission work in South Africa. Her faith was a guiding light that radiated through her actions, instilling hope and compassion in everyone she met. Music also played a significant role in her life; she found great joy singing in choirs and sharing her love of melody with those around her.
A beloved member of the Bay Area Presbyterian Church in Webster, Texas, Genevieve's unwavering faith and commitment to community service touched the lives of many. Her legacy of love, kindness, and creativity will continue to resonate within the hearts of all who knew her.
Visitation will be held at Centenary United Methodist Church in Bonne Terre, on Saturday, February 14, 2026, from 10:00 A.M. until service time of 11:00 A.M. with Pastor Peter Norton officiating. Burial will follow at Bonne Terre Cemetery. In lieu of flowers family is asking to donate to Star of Hope Mission (2575 Reed Rd. Houston, TX. 77051), in Genevieve’s memory.
As we remember Genevieve Rae Berry-Jensen, let us honor her memory by embracing the principles of faith, family, and music that she held dear. May she rest in eternal peace, her legacy continuing to inspire us all.
