George William Looney

George William Looney, age 82, passed away on Sunday, January 5, 2025, at his home in Fredericktown, Missouri. He was born on July 14, 1942, in Puxico, Missouri, to Erastus Otto and Iva Lula Ella (Walker) Looney.

On January 20, 1967, in St. Louis, Missouri he was united in marriage to Linda Mae Martin, she survives at the home.

Other survivors include his two daughters - Melissa Looney and Christina (Brian) Fingers; one brother – James Looney; three grandchildren - Brian Wayne (Hayley) Fingers, Brice William Fingers and significant other, Aryah Campbell and Blaine Wyatt Fingers and significant other, Chloe Keller; two great grandchildren - Burklee Wayne Fingers and Hayzel Maeve Fingers and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by one brother and two sisters.

George was a United States Navy Veteran; he had worked at Mineral Area College for several years and was a member of the First Baptist Church in Fredericktown where he enjoyed helping with any tasks that needed done; he also enjoyed gardening and woodworking, but his greatest joy was his family.

A gathering of family and friends will be from 1:00 – 2:00 p.m., on Saturday, January 25, 2025, at the First Baptist Church in Fredericktown.

Memorial services will be held at 2:00 p.m., also on Saturday, January 25, 2025, at the First Baptist Church with Pastor Brian Wetzler and Bro. Tom Johnson officiating.
