George Rodenmeyer

George Rodenmeyer, 76, of Farmington, Missouri (formally of Picacho, Arizonia) passed away March 18, 2018, at NHC in Desloge, Missouri. He was born July 14, 1941 in St. Louis, Missouri, to the late George Stephen and Ethelyn Willania (St. Cyr) Rodenmeyer.

George served his country for 10 years in the Marines and 8 years in the Army Reserves. George was a long time member of the Mason and the Shrine Organization. He belonged to the Clowns and the Drum and Bugle Corp. George was a former member of the American Legion, Casa Grande, Arizona. In his later years he enjoyed living and traveling in his motor home and taking cruises. George was given a service dog, trained by Laura Sullivan, named ‘Porter’. His beloved 4 legged friend was his companion till the end.

He was preceded in death by his parents; sisters Patsy Montgomery and Nancee Troxel; brother-in-law, Clyde Lewis; and son-in-law, Rodney Sherrill.

George is survived by his wife, Dianne Irma (Dreyer) Rodenmeyer, of 27 years. Step children; Cynthia Dianne Hurst, Lesley Dianne Sherrill (late Rodney), Lisa Dianne Lingle-Hardesty (Dan); Grandchildren; Brandon Brown (Tristyn), Danielle Hurst, Dustin Hurst, Andrew Lingle, Tommi Mangnall, Ashley Lingle, Jessica Mangnall, Leviticus Hurst; great-grandchild; Everett Burkett.

Previously united in marriage and to this union one son and three daughters were born. His children called him ‘Jovial’. Greggory Rodenmeyer (Jo), Donna Heaton (John), Lisa Rodenmeyer, Krista Bayhylle (Jeff); several other grandchildren, family members and friends survive.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Shriner Hospital for Children, St. Louis, Missouri.

George chose to donate his body to Logan University.
