George Rosario Ahlert

George Rosario Ahlert, age 84, of Bonne Terre, passed away Thursday, January 6, 2022 at Parkland Hospital in Farmington.  George was born on Wednesday, July 14, 1937 in Chicago, Illinois to the late William and Bernice (Jeski) Ahlert. In addition to parents, he was also preceded in death by the love of his life, his wife, Nancy (Hildebrand) Ahlert. They were married for over 60 years and have now been reunited.

George proudly served his country in the United States Army during the Korean War. He retired from Union Pacific as a railroad mechanic. George enjoyed the outdoors. He loved to fish and play cards. He was a loving family man and father. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.  

He is survived by his children, Michael (wife Lisa) Ahlert, Cyndi (husband Joe) Firnbach and Amy (fiance Keith) Ball; brother, Donald (wife Nancy) Ahlert. Also surviving are nine grandchildren and six great-grandchildren, along with many nieces, nephews and host of friends.

As was his wish, there will be no formal memorial services.

Arrangements are under the direction of CZ Boyer & Son Funeral Home in Bonne Terre.
