George Walter Stevens, age 82 of Fredericktown, Missouri passed away on Sunday, April 3, 2016 at the Stockhoff Nursing center in Fredericktown. He was born on October 6, 1933 in Annapolis, Missouri, a son of George Wesley and Delsie Mae (Palmer) Stevens. On September 1, 1979 in Marquand, Missouri he was united in marriage to Esther Joan Starkey; she survives in Fredericktown. Other survivors include: one daughter - Karen Burton and husband Bill of St. Peters, Missouri; three sons - Randall Stevens and wife Pat of Annapolis, Gary Wagganer of Fredericktown and Kevin Wagganer and wife Dawn of Buckhorn, Missouri; Daughter-In-Law ; Kathy Stevens of Annapolis, ten grandchildren, six great grandchildren and one great-great- granddaughter. He is preceded in death by his parents, son, Gerald Stevens, sister, Imogene Sullivan, brother, Wesley Stevens and grandson, Joseph Burton. George was owner/operator of Stevens Trucking in Fredericktown; he enjoyed hunting, camping, racing stock cars and traveling to gospel music conventions and was a member of the Church of Many Blessings in Fredericktown. Visitation will be from 5:00 - 8:00 p.m., on Thursday, April 7, 2016 at Wilson Funeral Home in Fredericktown. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., on Friday, April 8, 2016 at Wilson Funeral Home in Fredericktown with Rev. Gary Rhodes officiating.
