It is with deep sorrow and love that we gather to honor the life of Gladys Marie Young, who will forever remain in our hearts. Born on Tuesday, September 3, 1963, in Bonne Terre, Missouri, to the late John and Maudie Alice (Stricklin) Kane, Sr. Gladys left us on Wednesday, March 18, 2026, at the age of 62 surrounded by her family.

Gladys was truly a ray of sunshine, brightening the lives of all who were fortunate enough to know her. A devoted woman of faith, she found peace and happiness in the simple joys of life tending to her garden, flowers, fishing, and creating beautiful crafts. She had a passion for baking that filled homes with warmth and the sweet aroma of love, which she shared with family and friends. She also cherished her collections of chickens and bear figurines.

She started her hardworking legacy at Built-Well in Farmington, where she left a lasting impression on coworkers and customers alike. Gladys also dedicated many years of service to Walmart, where she worked in the bakery and became known for her kindness and welcoming spirit.

She will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by her children, Matt Dunigan, Bobby Kane, Patrick Richardson, Samantha Johnson, Jamie Young, Greg Young, and Jackie Young; her grandchildren, Riley and Allie Young and others; and her siblings, Jannie Hammock, Betty Sansoucie, and John Kane, Jr.

Along with her parents she is preceded in death by her husband, Marvin Young; son, Mark Anthony Quesenberry and brother, Billy Kane.

Gladys Marie Young’s spirit will continue to live on in all who knew and loved her.

Visitation will be held Sunday, March 22, 2026, from 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM. at C.Z. Boyer & Son Chapel in Bonne Terre, Missouri. Funeral services will take place on Monday, March 23, 2026, at 12:00 PM, interment to follow at Adams Cemetery in Frankclay Missouri.

Memorial contributions may be made in Gladys’s honor to Siteman Cancer Center.

Arrangements are under the direction of C. Z. Boyer & Son Funeral Home in Bonne Terre.
