Glen Roux

Glen Roux

          Harold Glenwood Roux was born on December 1, 1932 in Leadwood.  He was called home to be with his Lord and Savior on June 21, 2022.  Glen was the son and only child of Guy Harvey Roux and Reva Leona Roux.  His parents preceded him in death, as did his wife, Thelma Roux.

          Roux is survived by a son, Mike Roux and his wife Nancy of Columbia; daughter, Linda Easter and husband Jim of Park Hills.  Roux is also survived by dozens of grandchildren and great-grandchildren who love Grandpa Glen very much.

          Glen Roux was a graduate of Flat River High School and Flat River Junior College.  He also earned Bachelor Degrees from both the University of Missouri in Columbia and the University of Missouri in St. Louis. Glen was a member of the First Baptist Church of Park Hills for 80 years.

          Roux was proud veteran serving in the United States Army from 1955 to 1957, as an Officer in the First Armored Division.

          Glen Roux also served his community in many different capacities; from 1972 to 1982 he was the Chief of the Flat River Fire Department; He served on the Flat River City Counsel for 2-years; Roux served on the St. Francois County Ambulance District Board of Directors for decades and for 42-years Roux was the Business Manager at Mineral Area Community College.  After retirement, Roux an avid outdoorsman, enjoyed traveling, fishing in the Gulf of Mexico and watching his grandchildren and great-grandchildren play at his cabin on the lake.  He had a passion to serve the Lord through his Church and enjoyed restoring antique tractors.

            Visitation will be held at the First Baptist Church in Park Hills, Friday, June 24, 2022 from 5 pm to 8 pm.  A firefighter service will be held at 6 pm. The visitation will resume on Saturday, June 25, 2022 at 10 am until service time at 12 PM noon.  Interment will follow at Hillview Memorial Gardens in Farmington, with full military honors. Memorials can be made to the Building Fund, First Baptist Church of Park Hills, 12 N. Coffman St., Park Hills, MO 63601.
