Guy Eugene Coppedge

Guy Eugene Coppedge, 72, of Bonne Terre passed away January 29, 2016, at his residence.  He was born November 1, 1943, in Desloge.  Guy served his country in the United States Air Force, was stationed in Hawaii as a machinist, and participated in a study for the Space program.  He retired as a machinist from the glass factory.

 

Guy was a natural athlete and an avid sportsman who enjoyed hunting and fishing with his brothers and family. Guy’s greatest love was his wife Carol, with whom he shared his passion for fishing and later a newly-found passion for golf. They were members of the Leadbelt Golf Club, working with the board, teaching golfing, and repairing golf clubs for club members.  

 

Guy was preceded in death by his parents, Guy Sherrill Coppedge and Edith Virginia (Sweeney); his wife,  Carol (Gamble) Coppedge; sisters, Patsy, Jean, Lorraine Allen, Marie Webb, and Michaleen Parker; brothers, Donald, Bobby, Roy “Cotton”, and Sherrill.

 

Guy is survived by a brother, Gary Coppedge and sisters, Evelyn Qualls of Bonne Terre, Wanda Patterson of Webb City, Connie (Jerry) James of Jefferson City; as well as many nieces, nephews and cousins; and a stepson Rich Raney of Florida.

 

A memorial service will be held Sunday, February 7, 2016, at 2:00 PM at C.Z. Boyer & Son Funeral Home in Desloge, with visitation beginning at 1:00 PM.

 

Memorials may be made to Camp Hope.
