Harold Leroy Morgan, 72, of Farmington, formerly of Pontoon Beach, IL passed away June 24, 2025. He was born August 9, 1952 in Monmouth, IL to the late Alfred and Nelda (Rossman) Morgan. Harold was employed with U.S. Steel for many years until his retirement. He was a former member of the United Steel Workers Union.
He will be remembered as a kind and gentle soul who touched the lives of everyone who knew him. He had a deep appreciation for history, especially the Civil War and World War II, often visiting historical sites that brought the past to life. He also cherished the simple pleasures of life, sharing meals at his favorite restaurants and enjoying the atmosphere of local car shows.
In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by four siblings, Howard “Bud” Morgan, Glenda “Sis” Burnett, Veronica “Ronnie” Wickham and Sandy (Dan) Deuser.
Harold is survived by his loving wife, Audrey (Heinzl) Morgan; two children, Ameyus Moore and husband Paul and Jason Morgan and wife Dawne; five grandchildren, Olivia, Aislyn, Cora, Benjamin and Paul V; six siblings, Debbie Frost, David (Pat) Morgan, Joe Morgan, Vickie Russell, and Beverly Unger; sister-in-law, Dale Morgan. Several nieces, nephews, other family and friends also survive.
Visitation will be held at the C.Z. Boyer & Son Funeral Home – Taylor Chapel in Farmington on Monday, June 30, 2025 from 9:30 AM until the time of service at 11:00 AM. Interment will follow at Lake View Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Fairview Heights, IL at 2:15 PM.
