Helen L. McFarland, 94 of Farmington, formerly of Viburnum, passed away Sunday, November 4, 2012 at St. Joe Manor in Bonne Terre.She was born March 31, 1918 in Elvins.She was a member of the United Methodist Church in Farmington before moving to Bonne Terre. She was loved by friends and family. Sheenjoyed traveling with her husband Othal, who shared her love of golf, square dancing and fishing. Helen possessed many talents such as crocheting, decorating, crafting, quilting and growing flowers, were among her favorite hobbies. She was preceded in death by parents, Homer Curtis and Elizabeth Jane (Gilman) Aldrich; spouse,Othal McFarland; sisters, Irene Aslinger, Lena Russell, Francis Tinker, Virgie McFarland, Edna Dodwell; brother, Harold Aldrich. Helen is survived by daughter, Brenda Edgar and husband Arnold; son, David McFarland and wife Cindi of Florida; Zetta (Mrs. Don) Hutson, who was like a daughter; grandchildren, Randy (Juliann) Edgar, Terry (Anita) Edgar, Danny (Susi) Edgar, Julie (Mrs. Chris) Hill, Andy (Janet) McFarland, Amy (Mrs. Joe) Wells, and Cathy (Mrs. Aaron) King; twenty great-grandchildren; and 6 great great-grandchildren; sister in-law, Anna Mae (Mrs. Albert) McFarland. The family will accept friends from 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM, Wednesday, November 7, 2012 at C.Z. Boyer and Son Chapel in Desloge.The service will immediately follow at 1:00 PM with Pastor Bradford Laubinger officiating.Interment will follow the service at St. Francois Memorial Park in Bonne Terre. Memorials may be given to Desloge First Baptist Church, Building Fund. A special thank you to Safe Harbor Hospice, for the love and care given to our mother, and the St. Joe Manor for their special care.
