Helen Maxine (Jarrell) Snider of Pilot Knob, Missouri, passed away on Tuesday, October 24, 2023, at the age of 93 years. Helen was the daughter of the late Marvin Jarrell and Marian (Abbey) Jarrell. She was adopted and raised by Fred and Lillian Schwerin who preceded her in death. Helen was born in Lapeer, Michigan on August 11, 1930. On August 25, 1950, she was united in marriage to Eugene Alexander Snider. Together they raised six children: Thomas (Suvanna) Snider of Thailand, Brenda Williams of Farmington, Missouri, Richard (Renee) Snider of Ironton, Missouri, Karl (Sherri) Snider of Arcadia, Missouri, Chrissy (Brent) Nichols of Ironton, Missouri, and Laura (Brian) Mace of Eldon, Missouri. Helen was the grandmother to thirteen grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her sister; Linda Cook of Fenton, Michigan, numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, and many friends. In addition to her parents and her husband, Helen is preceded in death by her brother Donald Stratton, a sister, Donna Meyka, a brother-in-law, William Cook and a son-in-law, Mike Grajek. Along with caring for her family, Helen was a substitute teacher. She was a substitute teacher in the Arcadia Valley School District for many years. She was also very active in her church, First Church of the Nazarene in Ironton, Missouri. Helen had a heart for missions and was the Missionary President at church. She LOVED to crochet and was still crocheting until a couple of months ago. She loved making doilies, quilts, and many other things as gifts for family, friends, and the missions. She liked to sew as well. She was an avid reader all her life. She enjoyed playing BINGO at Meadowbrook. Helen was known for her chocolate chip cookies which she made frequently for her family. She will be deeply missed by her family and friends. Funeral Services will be held Saturday, October 28, 2023 at 11:00 a.m. from Bryson Funeral Home Chapel. Visitation will be on Friday, October 27, 2023, from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. Interment will be at Arcadia Valley Memorial Park following the service. Memorials can be made to the First Church of the Nazarene in Ironton, Missouri.
