Henry "Joe" Lix

Henry Joseph Lix of Farmington passed away Sunday, July 2nd at Southbrook Nursing Facility at the age of 71. He was born on February 19, 1952 to the late Henry and Sylvia Lix of Desloge, MO.

Henry “Joe” attended school in Desloge, MO and graduated from North County High School in 1970.  It was there he met the love of his life, Marcia Kay Petty.  They were married 52 years. Henry “Joe” worked for twenty plus years at Dolomite/Resco Products in Desloge as a kiln operator.  Then worked as a warehouse/delivery driver for Rexel Electrical Supplies.  He retired after several years there to enjoy retirement with Kady and his grandkids.

Henry “Joe” never met a stranger.  He had a big smile and laugh but most of all he had the biggest heart.  His number one love was his family.  How he adored his children and grandchildren.  He was “Poppy” to all five grandkids.  They all loved to spend the night at Nana and Poppy’s where they were royally spoiled.  The word “no” was not in his vocabulary when it came to them. In his spare time, he loved to fish, work out in the yard, play cards with his siblings, help Scott with the farm, and take trips with Kady.  He also spent a lot of time at sporting events cheering on the “kiddos”.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Alice Marsh, a brother, Wayne Adams, and a brother-in-law, Gene Mahurin.

Henry is survived by his loving wife, Marcia “Kady” Lix of Farmington; two children, Scott (Amy) Lix and Michele (Mike) Redmond both of Farmington; five grandchildren, Tyler, Megan, and Hayden Lix and Brittany (fiancé Carl Wheeler) and Lane Redmond; brother, Perry (Lorraine) Adams; sister, Alpha Mahurin; brothers-in-law, Ron (Suzette) Petty and Mike (Nancy) Petty. Many nieces and nephews also survive.

Visitation will be held at C.Z. Boyer & Son Funeral Home – Taylor Chapel in Farmington on Saturday, July 8, 2023 from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM. Visitation will resume at 1:00 on Sunday, July 9 until the time service at 2:00 PM with Pastor Clyde Berry officiating. Interment will follow at Hillview Memorial Gardens in Farmington.
