Herman Lee Brooks of Ironton, Missouri passed away November 13, 2020 at his residence at the age of 76 years. He was born April 2, 1944 in Ironton, Missouri the son of the late William Albert and Essie Gladys (Hill) Brooks. On May 18, 1974 he was united in marriage to Cathy Lynn (Barton) Brooks who survives. Also surviving are his children; Terry Confer and husband, Dennis of Spring, Texas, Richard Brooks of Kansas City, Missouri, Scott Brooks and wife, Vanessa of Tequesta, Florida, Shawn Brooks of New Hartford, New York, and Steven Brooks of Ironton, Missouri. His brother, Sam Brooks of St. Louis, Missouri and his sister, Ruby Crocker of Caledonia, Missouri also survive. Herman was a grandfather to many grandchildren and great grandchildren, an uncle to numerous nieces and nephews, and a friend to many. Herman was preceded in death by his sister, Elsie Brooks, and three brothers: Lee Brooks, Claude Brooks, and Ralph Brooks. Herman was a member of the Fredericktown Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses. He was a family man and loved time spent with family. His family says that his favorite hobby was talking. He loved to visit, and he loved to eat, especially pie. Mincemeat pie was his favorite. In his younger years he liked fast cars and drag racing. Herman was very meticulous about everything. He was an appliance technician and retired from General Electric. Private graveside services for Herman's family will be held at Mount Pleasant Cemetery in Goodland.
