Howard Lee Gillam, 76, of Farmington passed away March 21, 2019 at St. Clare Hospital in Fenton. He was born October 22, 1942 in Salina, Kansas. Howard was an ordained minister and former longtime member of Abundant Life Family Church, where he also served as an elder. He was a well-known master gunsmith and gun enthusiast. He retired from Local 527 Cement Masons.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Walter and Annie (Jenkerson) Gillam; brother, Walter Gillam; grandson, Joey Gillam; father-in-law, Lowell Smith.
Howard is survived by his loving wife, Janet (Smith) Gillam; five children, Jim Gillam, Bill Gillam, Howard Gillam and wife Debbie, Heather Lara and husband Alonso, Matt Gillam and wife Sarah; eight grandchildren, Ashley Berry, James Gillam, Lindsey Gillam, Bryce Gillam, Maria Lara, Jesus Lara, Elena Lara, Meleah Lara; five great-grandchildren, Alex, Raylee, Hollan, Tanner, Landon; mother-in-law, June Smith.
Visitation will be Sunday, March 24, 2019 from 1:00 PM until the time of service at 3:00 PM at the C.Z. Boyer & Son Funeral Home in Desloge with Pastor Rick Hensley and Pastor Dan Norris officiating. Interment will follow at Hillview Memorial Gardens in Farmington. Memorials may be made to Abundant Life Family Church or The Sanctuary in Otto, MO.
