Hubert L Morris, Sr.

           
             Hubert Morris, Sr., 92, of Bonne Terre passed away October 5, 2017 at NHC Healthcare.  He was born on January 19, 1925 in Bonne Terre to the late Roscoe P. and Laura (Dodson) Morris, Sr.  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a grandson, Rickie Heth; brother, Roscoe P. Morris, Jr.; sister, Fern Morris.

Hubert was a lifetime member of the N.R.A. and the American Legion.  He proudly served in the U.S. Army during WW II.  He fought in the Battle of the Bulge and was part of the ground invasion at Normandy Beach.  Hubert was an avid hunter, fisherman and enjoyed gardening.

Hubert is survived by his loving wife of 71 years, Evelyn (Matthews) Morris; two children, Sharon Heth and Hubert L. Morris, Jr. and wife Jackie; four grandchildren, Donnie Heth, Laura Thomas, David Heth II, and Hubert L. Morris III; eight great-grandchildren; two sisters, Alta Lawson and Nadalee Tomsier.

Visitation will be held at C.Z. Boyer & Son Funeral Home in Bonne Terre on Sunday, October 8, 2017 from 11:30 AM until service time of 1:00 PM with Rev. Greg McCord officiating.  Burial to follow at Shirley Union Cemetery in Washington County with full military honors.  Memorial Contributions may be made to the Alzheimers Association.
