Hunter James Dowd

Hunter James Dowd, age 25 of New Martinsville, West Virginia passed away on Wednesday, July 26, 2023, at Ruby Memorial Hospital in Morgantown, West Virginia. He was born on February 6, 1998, to Stephen Gerald and Cynthia Renee (Kirkpatrick) Dowd. His father precedes him in death.

He is survived by one son – Greyson Dowd of St. Louis, Missouri; his mother and stepfather – Cynthia & Robert Karn of New Martinsville; three sisters – Gabriella Hudson and Hattie Dowd also of New Martinsville and Jozie Dowd of Fredericktown, Missouri; grandparents – Melvin (Regina) Dowd of Fredericktown, Lloyd (Faye) Kirkpatrick of Marble Hill, Missouri and Denice (Jerry) Sargent of New Martinsville, West Virginia; stepbrother – Joshua Karn of Sedgewickville, Missouri and stepsister – Constance Karn of Jackson, Missouri.

Hunter was a Fredericktown High School graduate, he had worked as a salesclerk at Dollar General in New Martinsville and enjoyed outdoor sports, golf, basketball, baseball and skate boarding.

Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m., on Thursday, August 3, 2023 at Wilson Funeral Home in Fredericktown, Missouri.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m., also on Thursday, August 3, 2023 at Wilson Funeral Home with Pastor Randy Sawyer and Pastor Kevin Mills officiating.

Interment will be at the Oddfellows Cemetery in Fredericktown.
