Ira Ann Hawkins of Arcadia Missouri passed away October 12, 2023, in Pilot Knob, Missouri at the age of 90 years. She was born February 22, 1933, in Walnut Ridge, Arkansas, the daughter of the late Ira Lee and Anna Madge (Sanders) Lewis. On September 20, 1951, she was united to the love of her life, Paul Vernis Hawkins who preceded her in death on April 8, 2014. To this union four children were born: Paula Warren (Ronnie) of Annapolis, Missouri, Lisa Brooks of Ironton, Missouri, Gary Paul Hawkins of Sedalia, Missouri, and Rebecca Bradshaw (Sonny) of Columbia, Missouri. Ira Ann is also survived by five beloved grandchildren: Scott Warren (Sloane) Suzi Lorenz (Chris), Gynnah Gaudreau (Kelly Tyler), Ryan Brooks, and Corey Brooks; eight great grandchildren: Clayton, Addie, Taylor, Jordan, Sawyer, Logan, Leilah, and Reece, two great great grandchildren: Cashton and Cord, as well as a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and many, many friends. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by two brothers: Gary Lewis and Lee Sanders Lewis. Ira Ann was a 1951 graduate of Ironton High School. She was the Valedictorian of her class. Ira Ann worked as a secretary for twenty years at the Baptist Home. While working there she authored two books on the History of the Baptist Home. The first edition was published in 1989 and the second was updated and revised in 2003. She was also responsible for writing the monthly Baptist Home Newsletter. Ira Ann was a long-time faithful member of the Ironton First Baptist Church. She enjoyed reading and her Harmony Sunday School class. Most of all she loved spending time with her family. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, October 14, 2023, at 1:00 p.m. from Bryson Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Ryan Nichols officiating. Visitation will begin at 10:30 a.m. prior to the service. Interment will be in Arcadia Valley Memorial Park. Memorials may be made to the First Baptist Church of Ironton.
