Irene Yvonne Cureton

Irene Yvonne Cureton, age 78 of Fredericktown, Missouri passed away peacefully at her home on Sunday, October 8, 2017. She was born on August 14, 1939 in Fredericktown, a daughter of Russell Wilbur and Goldie Irene (Stephens) Bollinger. On May 10, 1958 at Rhodes Chapel she was united in marriage to Troy Earl Cureton, he survives at the home.  Other survivors include: one son Mike (Patty) Cureton of Fredericktown; two daughters - Kim (Ronnie) Long of Fredericktown and Michele McBride (Randy Tuttle) of Farmington, Missouri; four grandchildren - Nathan Pogue (Marissa Kramer), Casey (John) Quarando, Linley (Benny) Slinkard and Molly (Drew) Fetters; four great-grandchildren - Avery, Amelia and Aria Quarando and Waylon Slinkard; one sister - Bobbie Lenhardt of Fredericktown and three brothers - Lindell Bollinger and Bruce Bollinger both of Barnhart, Missouri, and Ronnie Bollinger of Cape Girardeau, Missouri; brother-in-law - Carl Kinder of Festus and sister-in-law - Ginger Bollinger of Fredericktown.   She is preceded in death by her parents, one grandson, Adam Long; two brothers - Russell Bollinger and Bo Bollinger and two sisters, Faye Prokoph and Ginger Kinder.      Irene retired as a fifth grade school teacher after twenty five years with the Fredericktown School District. She was a member of the Madison County Food Pantry, and Madison County Extension Council and was on the board of Feed the Family Bake Sale and was past president of the local Chapter of the Missouri state Teachers Association. She loved spending time with her family but her greatest joy was being with her grandchildren. She was a member of the Grace Church of the Heartland in Fredericktown.      Visitation will be from 5:00 - 8:00 p.m., on Monday, October 9, 2017 at Grace Church of the Heartland near Fredericktown and also from 9:00-11:00 a.m., on Tuesday morning at Grace Church of the Heartland. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., on Tuesday, October 10, 2017 at Grace Church of the Heartland with Bro. Carl Cureton, Pastor Brian Mills and Pastor Ray Reese officiating. Internment will be at Walker Cemetery in Fredericktown.  Memorial contributions are suggested to the Madison County Food Pantry or Madison County Relay for Life.      Condolences may be posted on this website.
