Irvin Brooks, 75, of Leadwood, passed away December 26, 2014 at Parkland Health Center in Farmington. He was born January 17, 1939 to the late Herbert and Marie Brooks. Irvin was a member of the Leadwood Baptist Church, and he was an avid CBier with the handle "Tree Trimmer." He worked over 30 years as a drywall hanger to provide for his family. Irvin was a member of AFL-CIO local Farmington. He is preceded in death by his parents; brother, James Brooks; sister, Vivian Payne; four nephews and one niece. Irvin is survived by his loving wife Ada (Bridgewater) Brooks, married February of 1961; children, Irvin Brooks and wife Pattie, Elaine (Mrs. William) Downey, Samantha (Mrs. Allen) Lamphier, Henry (Marsha) Brooks, Christy (Mrs. Jodie) Briley, and Brian (Amanda) Brooks; eighteen grandchildren; fifteen great-grandchildren; three sisters, Lillian Parker, Sharon Mauzy, Barbara Jean Pryor; a number of nieces, nephews, family friends; and beloved dog, Snoopy. Visitation will be held at C.Z. Boyer and Son Funeral Home in Leadwood, Sunday, December 28, 2014 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM. The service will be held in the C.Z. Boyer and Son Chapel in Leadwood, Monday, December 29, 2014 at 1:00 PM with Rev. Bill Bond. Interment will follow at Leadwood Cemetery.
