Iva Aline Bates

Mrs. Iva Aline Bates passed away in Farmington, Tuesday, Sept., 13, 2016, at the age of 94 years and 28 days. Aline was born Aug. 15, 1922, in Iron Mountain, MO., & was the daughter of John "Tip" Harrison Henson & Jessie Faye 'Plummer' Henson. Also preceding-in-death were: her husband, Paul Elwood Bates (1998); a son, Rev. David Bates; a daughter, Donna (Lincoln) Edwards, a sister, Dorothy Lea Reynolds and a grandson, Jonathan Bates (1978).

Iva was a lifetime member of Iron Mountain Assembly of God Church. She was an avid quilter and an LPN at the Arcadia Valley Hospital.

Survivors Include: 2 daughters - Paula Delaine Bates, of Austin, TX, and Ann (Lincoln) Sutton (& fiance') Ed Moss, of Bonne Terre. 1 son - Tom (& Jane) Bates, of Farmington. 1 daughter-in-law, Marilyn Bates, of Farmington. 2 sisters - Alma Louise Bates, of Farmington, and Patricia Faye Arbie, of Live Oak, FL. 9 grandchildren: Lori (Doug) Lowrey; Bruce (Stacey) Clements; Judy (Kevin) Russell; Jacque Bates; Aaron Bates; Jennifer (Scott) Aholt; Janna (Josh) Hagerty; Edward Sutton & Susan (Ben) Swink. 21 great-grandchildren: Josh, Jordan and Jessica Lowrey; Jennifer Padrutt; Brandon; Brett; Brock & Bryce Clements; Whitney ; Logan & Jayden Russell; Nathan & Nicholas Rothlisberger; Sloane Elam; Jonah & Jersey Hagerty; Carson & Addysen Sutton; Tanner & Oliva Grmes; Jamie Edwards. 4 great, great-grandchildren: Mason; Alex; Jonathan & Brody. Also, a very dear cousin who was like a little sister to her, Helen Marie Umfleet, of Farmington.
