It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Jackie Dale Huff, fondly known as Jack, who left us on Saturday, May 24, 2025, at the age of 85. Born on Tuesday, July 11, 1939, in Bonne Terre, MO, Jack lived a life full of dedication, love, and hard work. He passed away naturally, leaving behind a legacy that will forever resonate with those who knew him.
Jack was a devoted family man who worked tirelessly to provide for his loved ones, often juggling three jobs at a time. As a truck driver in the hauling industry, he embraced the road and the challenges it brought, while always remembering to make time for cherished family vacations filled with fishing and camping adventures. His love for the outdoors was only matched by his passion for bowling, where he shared many joyful times with friends in various leagues. In addition to his numerous other responsibilities, Jack proudly ran a lawn business with his granddaughter, a venture that brought them closer together as they nurtured both grass and their bond. Family was everything to Jack, and he took immense pride in watching his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren grow and thrive.
Jack is survived by his beloved, daughter Debbie McCarty, son Michael (Mike) Huff; son-in-law, Leon McCarty; daughter-in-law, Kim Huff, cherished grandchildren; Jason McCarty, Shawn McCarty, and Andrea Huff; granddaughter-in-laws, Marisa McCarty and Jennifer McCarty; great-grandchildren, Sophia, Lilly, Aaron and Abigail, each of whom held a special place in his heart.
Jack was preceded in death by his loving wife of 57 years, Virginia Louise (Barlow) Huff; parents, Latt and Susie (Lawson) Huff; grandson, Andrew Huff; brothers, Jewel, Alvin, Ivan, Homer, Arte, Harry and Roy; sisters, Etta, Bea, Vera, Anne Belle and Irene. As we reflect on Jack's life, we remember a warm, hardworking, and caring soul who instilled the values of love and family in all of us.
Though he may no longer be with us, his spirit will live on in the memories we share and the lessons he taught us. Rest in peace, Jack. You will be missed, but never forgotten.
