Jack Deneen Vickery of Ironton, Missouri passed away May 16, 2024, at The Baptist Home at the age of 98 years. He was born March 24, 1926, in Ironton, Missouri the son of Theodore and Ollie (Huff) Vickery. 
Jack attended Ironton schools until age 15 when his family moved to St. Louis. He graduated in 1943 from Roosevelt High School. Jack went on to proudly serve his country in the United States Army and Air Force. He served in WWII, Korea and Vietnam earning numerous commendations and medals, including a Bronze star. He retired with the rank of Chief Master Sergeant after serving twenty-eight years for our country. After retiring from the Air Force, Jack and Janet moved back to Ironton to be closer to family. He then went to work in a management position for Brown Shoe Company.
Jack has served as a Deacon of the First Baptist Church in Ironton where he was a member since 1980. He has taught Sunday School for many years – both a men's class and most recently a couple's class. For the past 27 years, he...
