Listen to Obituary

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of James Alexander Elliott, affectionately known to family and friends as Jim, who peacefully departed this life on Wednesday, June 17, 2026, at the age of 92.

Born on Friday, September 1, 1933, to the late Henry and Lillie (Gauby) Elliott in Fulton, Missouri. Jim was a cherished husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend whose warmth, kindness, and gentle spirit touched the lives of all who knew him.

Jim proudly served his country in the United States Army, a commitment that reflected the sense of duty, honor, and dedication that characterized his entire life.

He was devoted to his family and took great pride in the life he built with his beloved wife, Julia, to whom he was married for 67 wonderful years. Together they created a legacy of love, faith, and family that will endure for generations. Jim was a true family man who treasured every moment spent with his loved ones, especially the annual family vacations that became treasured traditions and created countless cherished memories.

An avid beekeeper for many years, Jim found great joy in caring for his bees and spending time outdoors. He also took immense pride in maintaining his yard and could often be found mowing the grass and tending to his home. Whether working in the yard, caring for his bees, or spending time with family, Jim found happiness in life's simple pleasures. His strong work ethic, quiet strength, and caring nature were admired by all who knew him.

Jim is survived by his devoted daughter, Debra Lukachick; his beloved grandsons, Nicholas Lukachick and Daniel Lukachick; and his dear sister, Marie Williams, along with many nieces, nephews and friends. His legacy of compassion, strength, and unwavering devotion to family will forever remain in the hearts of those he leaves behind.

He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Julia Elliott; his daughter, Vickie Elliott; son-in-law, Mike Lukachick and his siblings, Juanita Davis, Gerald Elliott, Roy Elliott, John Elliott, Walter Elliott, Shirley Stanford, Douglas Elliott, and Myra Dever.

Jim lived a life rich with experiences, memories, and meaningful relationships. His presence was a comforting constant to family and friends, and his kindness left an indelible mark on everyone fortunate enough to know him. He will be remembered for his unwavering love of family, his service to his country, his hardworking spirit, and the countless ways he made those around him feel loved and valued.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, June 20, 2026, from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service at 12:00 noon at C.Z. Boyer & Son Funeral Home in Desloge, Missouri. Funeral services will begin at 12:00 p.m. with interment to follow at Bonne Terre Cemetery officiated by Rev. Jordan Ankrom.
