James Eugene Gidden Sr., 83, of Park Hills, passed away peacefully on October 3, 2026, at his home, surrounded by the love of his family. He was born on May 24, 1943, in Richwoods, to the late Iven Eugene and Virginia Bernice (Rulo) Gidden. James was not only a dedicated family man but also a steadfast member of the community, known for his work as the owner and operator of Gidden’s Mobile Home Service, where he devoted 40 plus years of his life to serving his customers with care and professionalism. In his free time, he found joy in cutting firewood, camping, fishing, and hunting, sharing many cherished moments with his family. He was also an enthusiastic bowler and a devoted coach who inspired young athletes through his guidance and encouragement in baseball.
He was preceded in death by his parents; first wife, Glenda Fern (Kinkade) Gidden; brother, Bobby Joe Gidden and sister, Patricia Mara.
James is survived by his loving wife Beverly Lynn (Smith) Gidden; children, Tammy Elders and husband Dennis, James Gidden and wife Rebecca, Kevin Gidden and wife Melissa, Timothy Gidden and wife Cindy, and Andrea Whaley; twelve grandchildren, Jacob, Tyler, Joshua, Sheranity (Chris), Shayla (Mason), Madelyn, Braylen, Kylie, Dakota, Cole, Bailee and Cooper; ten great-grandchildren, Harper, Avery, Trenten, Harper, Piper, Paralee, Blakley, Ariana, Kayleeana and Knox; sister, Virgina Sue McCarron; brothers in-law, Bill Mara, Patrick Smith, Mike Smith and Glen (Sue) Kinkade and sister in-law, Margaret (Ron) Ellis; several nieces, nephews, other family members and friends also survive.
