Mr. James C. "Jay" Cook passed away Wednesday evening, June 29, 2011, at Camelot Manor in Farmington, at the age of 80 years, 1 month & 23 days. James was born on May 6, 1931, in Oak Grove, MO., & was the son of William Luther Cook and Lissie Winifred 'Hurst' Cook. Also preceding were: 3 Sisters & 2 Brothers - Alva Bloom; Melba Jones; Beulah Sullivan; Jesse Cook & Dale Cook.
Jay was: * a US ARMY Veteran; * a member of AmVets; * a member of Mine la Motte Free Will Baptist Church and former Vice-President & President of the Farmington State Hospital Union.
Survivors Include: 7 Children - Velma Bell, of Fredericktown; James A. "Al" (& Lydia) Cook - of Fredericktown; Janet (Mrs. John) Wolk, of Ste. Genevieve; Darrell (& Phyllis) Cook, of Caledonia; Steve (& Cindy) Cook, of Fredericktown; Cindy Wofford, of Perryville, and Ronnie Bayless, of Sullivan. 2 Sisters: Marie Clark, of Brightstone, MO., & Norma Lee (& Frank) Pigg, of Mine la Motte, MO; 1 Brother: Dean Cook, of Festus. Also surviving are: 19 Grandchildren; 19 Great-Grandchildren; numerous Nieces & Nephews.
Visitation starts Saturday @ 1:00 p.m.
Funeral Service : Saturday, 3:00 p.m., July 2, 2011
at : TAYLOR Funeral Service CHAPEL, with Rev. Tim Reed officiating
