James I. Ketcherside, 103, of Park Hills passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on April 30, 2025 at his residence. He was born July 21, 1921 in Iron County, MO to the late Charles and Myrtle (Reed) Ketcherside. James proudly served his country in the United States Army during World War II. He worked as a railroad general foreman at St. Louis Refrigerator Car, where he retired after 30 years. He was a member of Faith Baptist Church. James will be remembered for his hard work, honesty and strong faith in Christ, in which he made it a point to read his bible every day.
In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his loving wife, Hilda E. (Lewis) Ketcherside; son, Earl Ketcherside; daughter-in-law, Lesa Ketcherside.
James is survived by two daughters, Sue (John) Castello and Pam Ketcherside; three sons, Michael Ketcherside, Roy (Ellen) Ketcherside and Mark (Shelly) Ketcherside; thirteen grandchildren, thirty-three great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren. Many nieces and nephews also survive.
A private family service will be held at the C.Z. Boyer & Son Funeral Home – Taylor Chapel in Farmington. James will be laid to rest at Three Rivers Cemetery in Ste. Genevieve County.
