James L. Neavill

James L. Neavill was born on May 13, 1934, at Cape Girardeau, MO and died on October 19, 2010. He was preceded in death by his parents, one son, James Neavill, Jr., and one brother, Don Neavill. Surviving are his wife Sandra, of the home in Terre Du Lac; son, Matthew (Martha) Neavill of CA; step-son, Steven (Stephanie) Matthews of Arnold; step-daughter, Kathy (Jerry) Jarvis of Terre Du Lac; grandchildren, Makeda and Brody Neavill of CA, Autumn Jarvis of Terre Du Lac, Alyssa (Daniel) Koffman of Maryland; step-sister, Ann of Brooklyn, NY.Mr. Neavill retired from the education profession after 31 years of service as a rural teacher, elementary and junior high teacher and coach, elementary principal, director of elementary education, and superintendent of schools. Following his education retirement he worked at Nooter Boiler, OVSC, Flat River Glass, and East Missouri Action Agency. He was a Life Member and Past Commander of VFW Post #5896 of Farmington, Life Member of American Legion Post #253 of Festus, and a member of Phi Delta Kappa. He was a Korean War Veteran of the U.S. Army. At Mr. Neavills request, his body was donated to Washington University School of Medicine. Mr. Neavills wishes were for no funeral or memorial services.
