James Clinton Miller, 90, of Pilot Knob went to be with his Savior on Saturday, October 25, 2025 in St. Louis, MO. Mr. Miller was born November 3, 1934 on the family farm in French Mills, MO, the son of James Clay Miller and Myrtle (King) Miller. Clinton, as everyone knew him was of the Baptist faith and was a member of Bethel United Baptist Church, and served as deacon, Sunday School teacher, and trustee. He graduated from the 12th grade at Ironton High School.
Clinton and Elsie Marie Ivester were united in marriage on November 12, 1955 at Marble Creek United Baptist Church. To this union two daughters were born, Beverly Ann and Pamela Sue.
Clinton proudly served his country in the United States Army for 2 years, of which 18 months were spent in Germany. He worked for General Motors in St. Louis, MO for 30 years as a painter before he retired on February 28, 1985.
For the last 40 years since his retirement he enjoyed being a general “fix it” man and helped build several homes and worked at the Bethel Bible Camp and Bethel United Baptist tabernacle. Dad liked his cars and trucks and had at least 19 new vehicles, and 7 new homes. He enjoyed reading his bible, fellowshipping with other believers, and spending time with family.
He was preceded in death by his parents, James and Myrtle Miller; one daughter, Beverly Ann (Miller) Boyd; two sisters, Bernice Pollock and Shirley Lewis; one brother, Curtis Miller; two nephews, Mark Lewis and Daniel Pollock.
Clinton is survived by his wife of 69 years and 11 months, Elsie Marie; daughter, Pamela Sue and husband Scott Jarvis of Ironton; grandchildren, Robert and Amanda Jarvis of Milton, WI, Jeffrey and Emily Jarvis of Roselle, MO, and Jonathon and Randi Jarvis of Syracuse, MO; great-grandchildren, Elijah, Forrest, Duke, Elsie Mae and Jude; son-in-law, Scott Boyd of Columbia, MO; grandchildren, David and Audrey Boyd of Columbia, MO, Matthew and Lilly Boyd of Columbia, MO, and Jeffrey Boyd of Fayetteville, AR; great-grandchildren, Gemma, Makael, Esme, Miller, Caden, Grayson and Teagan. He is also survived by one brother, Gerald and wife Ashley Miller of Robertsdale, AL; two sisters, Mary Ellen and husband Robert Settle of Farmington, MO and Sharron Pinkley of O’Fallon, MO and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held at the C.Z. Boyer & Son Funeral Home – Bryson Chapel in Pilot Knob on Friday, October 31, 2025 from 10:30 AM until the time of the funeral service at 12:30 PM with Rev. Mark Sutton officiating. Interment will follow at Polk Cemetery in Arcadia, MO. Memorial donations may be made to Bethel Bible Camp, Polk Cemetery or the organization of your choice.
