Janet Lee Starkey

Janet Lee Starkey, age 80 of Ransom, Kansas, passed away on Wednesday, November 2, 2022. On February 18, 1942, she was born in Flint, Michigan to the late Robert and Alice Beard.

On October 29, 1961 she was united in marriage to Luke Starkey, he precedes her in death. She is survived by her children; one son, Robert (Alice) Starkey; three daughters, Judy (Patrick) McCarty, Rebecca (Angel) Sifuentes and Lynda Smith; ten grandchildren – Evonne Campbell, Sarah (Mike) Groves, Robert McCarty, Christina Biester, Ashley (Glen) Kiley, Sandra Cos, Dusty (Stephanie) Cox, Krista (Timmy) Morris, Stephanie Smith and Jaclyn Harris and many great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and other extended family members.

In addition to her parents and husband, Janet is preceded in death by one brother, Robert Beard; six sisters, Mildred Kovalchick, Verda Peppler, Beatrice Kovalchick, Mary Ackley, Gladys Dodd and Margie Beard; two grandchildren, Paul David Phillips and Scotty Ray Stallings.

Jan was a devoted wife and mother who valued her faith in God and her family; she will be sadly missed by family and friends.

Visitation will be held from 11:00 – 12:30 p.m., on Friday, November 11, 2022, at Wilson Funeral Home in Fredericktown, Missouri.

A graveside service will be held at 1:00 p.m., on Friday, November 11, 2022, at Pine Union Cemetery near Marquand, Missouri with her son, Robert Starkey officiating.
