Jessie M. Detring

Mrs. Jessie M. 'Johnson' Bess Detring passed away Wednesday evening, December 11, 2013, in Farmington, at the age of 83 years, 4 months & 28 days. Jessie was born on July 13, 1930, in Marquand, MO., & was the daughter of Arthur L. Johnson and Minnie 'Pogue' Johnson. Also preceding-in-death were: her 1st husband, Robert B. Bess (1998); 3 sisters, Grace Haire, Esther Hart & Wilma Storey; and 2 brothers, Raymond Johnson & Jim Johnson.

Jessie was a member of Hurryville Free Will Baptist Church and retired from Southwestern Bell Telephone Co.

Survivors include : her husband, Walter C. Detring, of Farmington. One son, Stephen Bess, of Farmington; 2 Step-Sons: Kenneth C. (& Dawn) Detring, of Jackson, MO; Gerald (Wayne) Detring, of Nashville, TN; 1 brother, Chal (& Carol) Johnson, of E. Peoria, IL. Also surviving are 3 grandchildren: Melissa Bess, of Camdenton, MO; Bryan (& Lindsay) Bess, of St. Louis; Matthew (& Larissa) Bess, of Holts Summit, MO.

Visitation : Monday, 5-8 p.m. Visitation resumes Tuesday @ 6:30 a.m.

Funeral : Tuesday, 1:00 p.m., December 17, 2013

at : TAYLOR Funeral Service CHAPEL, with Rev. Dave McMillian officiating.

Interment follows at Parkview Cemetery, Farmington
