Jewel "Gene" Blanton, Jr.

Jewel Eugene “Gene” Blanton, Jr., of Farmington passed away Wednesday, December 20, 2023 at his home surrounded by loved ones at the age of 90. He was born on October 1, 1933 to Mary (Williams) & Jewel Blanton, Sr. who preceded him in death. He was also preceded in death by his son, Scott Blanton.
Gene proudly served his country in the United States Army as a paratrooper and retired from Mississippi Transmission Pipe Line in the early 90’s. After retirement Gene continued his business as a painting contractor well into his 80s. He was well known in the community for his attention to detail and work ethics. Gene loved working in the yard and around the house. He could have a conversation with anyone at any time and was liked by everyone he met. He soul heartily believed in family and provided care for his wife before his decline.
He is survived by his wife of 67 years, Gay (Frans) Blanton; one daughter, Tammy (Tom) Breeding of Farmington; and one grandson, Scotty Allen.
Gene requested not to have a viewing and was laid to rest at Hillview Memorial Gardens in Farmington, MO. Arrangements were under the direction of C.Z. Boyer & Son Funeral Home – Taylor Chapel in Farmington.
