Jim Gremminger

James "Jim" Gremminger of Desloge was born December 7, 1932 in Desloge and passed away November 15, 2014 at the age of 81. He was the son of the late Fred and Helen Mouser Gremminger. Also preceding him in death was a brother Vincent Gremminger. Jim was a member of the Desloge Fire Department for over 63 years where he served as Lt., Secretary, Captain and Chief. He was also involved with the civil defense "police and rescue" unit, the Ozark Fire Fighters Association serving as Sgt. at Arms, the Mineral Area Elks, (past member), the Boy Scouts as assistant scout master, an active volunteer for several civic organizations including delivery of veterans baskets, and Christmas in the Park. He was a General Motors retiree and a member of the UAW. He was very proud of his 26 years of sobriety with his family. Jim is survived by his wife Karen, "Kay" (Long) Gremminger; One sister Bernadine Grayson of Desloge; three son's, Larry and wife Paula, Chris and wife Georgia, Alan and wife Becki all of Desloge; and one daughter, Judy (Steve) Hutchison of Farmington. The following grandchildren, Broc and wife Jessi; Ashley (Mike) Douglas, Steven Hutchison, Erin Gremminger, Emily Gremminger, Hannah Hutchison and Evan Gremminger; Three great-grandchildren, Mia & Carson Gremminger and Isla Douglas. Visitation will begin Tuesday Nov. 18, at 4 p.m. with an Ozark Fire Fighter Service at 7:30 at C.Z. Boyer Funeral Home in Desloge. Funeral services will be 11 a.m. on Wednesday at the C. Z. Boyer & Son Chapel with Deacon Mike Burch officiating. Interment will follow at Immaculate Conception Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorials are requested to The BackStoppers Inc. or St. Vincent DePaul Food Pantry.
