With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of James Marvin Rosener, a cherished husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather and friend, who left us peacefully surrounded by his loving family on Friday, October 16, 2026, in Desloge, Missouri. Born on Friday, December 27, 1935, in Desloge, Missouri, Jim lived a life marked by hard work, devotion, and an unwavering spirit of generosity.
Jim's remarkable work ethic became evident early in his life, as he began working at the tender age of 11. Growing up on a farm, he diligently rose at 5 a.m. to milk cows before heading to school. Throughout his childhood, he took on various jobs, saving to buy his own clothes and cars, all while working for his Uncle Leamon Rosener until the age of 19. His sense of duty led him to serve his country honorably in the United States Army.
Following his military service, Jim embarked on a fulfilling career at McDonnell Douglas, where he contributed tirelessly for 35 years before retiring. He took pride in his work and the impact it had on the aircraft manufacturing industry.
On January 12, 1957, Jim married the love of his life, Barbara Rosener. Their bond was a testament to enduring love, as they celebrated nearly 70 years of marriage, sharing countless memories together. Jim's devotion to his family was unparalleled; he loved his children deeply and cherished each moment spent with his beloved grandchildren, giving each a special nickname and showering them with affection.
A natural storyteller, Jim delighted in gathering around the table with family and friends, sharing laughter, games, and his love for life. He had a deep passion for cars, camping, and fishing, often seen tending to his beloved vegetable garden and generously sharing its bounty with others. Jim was also a dedicated member of the Desloge First Baptist Church, where he contributed to the community through the Steadfast Sunday School class, embodying the spirit of compassion that defined his life.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Orville and Thena (King) Rosener; mother and father in-law, Olin and Thelma McCord; granddaughter, Adaline Rosener; sister, Frances Yount and her husband Jack.
Jim is survived by his beloved wife, Barbara, who will forever carry the memories of their beautiful life together; their three loving children; Kimberly Pearson, Tracy Barsch and husband David, and Patrick Rosener and wife Jackie; and seven wonderful grandchildren and eleven great grandchildren; along with two brothers in-laws, Leslie McCord, David McCord and wife Karen with their families and a host of friends.
A Memorial Visitation will be held at C.Z. Boyer Funeral Home in Desloge on Tuesday, October 20, 2026, from 9:00 A.M. until time of service with Military Honors at 11:00 A.M. Officiant Dr. Bradford Laubinger will be officiating, alongside Jim’s son Patrick Rosener. Jim will be laid to rest in a private setting at Little Vines Cemetery in Ste. Genevive Missouri.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that you embrace the spirit of generosity that Jim embodied by giving to the Senior Adult Group at Desloge First Baptist Church or sharing a kind word with someone in need.
Let us all remember Jim Rosener as we continue to reflect on his remarkable life and the love that radiated from him to all he encountered.
