Jim Swift

James “Jim” Swift, age 66, of Park Hills, passed away Saturday, November 19, 2022, at Mercy Hospital South in St. Louis surrounded by his loving family.  He was born on Thursday, October 4, 1956, in San Francisco, California.  He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Jul-Ann (Jensen) McGrory and grandson Cooper.  Jim attended Connections Church.

Jim is survived by his loving wife, Dianna (Whaley) Swift; daughters, Brandi Portell and husband Christopher, Christina Swift, Tiffany Yancey and husband Julian, Amanda Whaley (Eric Maxson), Cassie Ball; grandchildren, Alexis, McKinley, Reid, Jaycee, Reign, Alexander “A-Town” and Camden; siblings, Sharon Valentine, Mike Swift and wife Carole; special friend, Bill Stokely, and a host of family and friends.

Jim was a mechanic by trade and lived for fixing cars. Spending time at Table Rock Lake with his wife, daughters, grandkids and extended family were some of his most cherished moments. He also thoroughly enjoyed adventures on his motorcycle.  Jim was a kind and compassionate man who never met a stranger, a man who was most likely well known for his undeniable generous and loving heart.  Some are born great, some achieve greatness, and others have greatness thrust upon them. Jim, however, chose to be great. He touched the lives of all that knew him, and in a way only a true legend could. He showed us all the true meaning of greatness and to say he will be missed is the epitome of the word understatement, he will be cherished and held in the hearts of all that were blessed to have known and loved him, forever.

Visitation will be held at C.Z. Boyer and Son Funeral Home in Desloge, Friday, November 25, 2022, from 11:00 AM until the Celebration of Life Service at 2:00 PM with Pastor Lennie Fincher officiating assisted by Pastor Ashley Harrison.  Memorials may be made to Ronald McDonald House.  Arrangements will be under the direction of C.
