Jim Tate

          James “Jim” Tate, age, 68 of Bonne Terre, passed away Saturday, October 8, 2022, at Mercy Hospital in St. Louis.  James was born on Monday, January 11, 1954, in St. Louis to the late Sam and Gladys (Saale) Tate.

          Jim served his country in the United States Army. He was a member of Second Baptist Church of East Bonne Terre. He enjoyed watching wrestling and was a collector of all things, especially antiques.    

          In addition to his parents, Jim was preceded in death by his wife, Donna (Martin) Tate; son, David Martinez; grandson, David Martinez; siblings, Theresa Jones (Sylvanus), Frances Rawl and Samuel Tate; brothers-in-law, Jim Martin (Bernice), Mike Martin and Jerry Martin.

          Survivors include his son, Jerry Martinez (Jamie); seven grandchildren; thirteen great-grandchildren; siblings, Clarence Tate (Nina) and Mark Tate; brothers-in-law, Danny Martin (Sue), Bill Martin (Melba); sisters-in-law, Cary Tate, Cathy Martin and Joyce Dickson along with several nieces and nephews.

          Visitation will be on Tuesday, October 11, 2022, from 5:00 PM until 9:00 PM at the C. Z. Boyer & Son Funeral Home in Bonne Terre. Visitation will resume on Wednesday, October 12, 2022, at the funeral home from 8:00 AM until service time of 10:00 AM. Interment will follow at St. Francois Memorial Park in Bonne Terre.
