Jimmie Bayless

Jimmie Elvert Bayless, age 72, of Farmington, passed away Thursday, August 5, 2021, at Missouri Baptist Hospital in St. Louis. Jimmie was born on Thursday, November 25, 1948, in St. Louis, to the late Paul and Opal (Counts) Bayless. He served his country in the United States Army and later retired from the prison in Bowling Green as a Department of Corrections Lieutenant. Jimmie was a life time member of the D.A.V. He loved to play his guitar and write songs. Jimmie had a heart of gold and was the greatest husband, dad and grandpa.

Jimmie is survived by his loving wife, Beverly Ann (Warren) Bayless, beloved daughter, Kimberly Ann Clark and husband Joe; grandchildren, Brianna Womack and husband Matt, Austin Wren, Taylor Baker, Jimmie Downard, and Anndrea Downard; brother, Frankie Rowl, son-in-law, Michael (fiancé Dawn Hazen) Downard; brother-in-law; Frank M. Smith, Sr.; sister-in-law; Bonnie J. Smith; niece, Coni Le Black; nephews, Jimmy Black and Frankie M. Smith, Jr.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Paul and Opal (Counts) Bayless; two daughters, Beverly Lynn Bayless and Darla Gail Bayless; siblings, Leonard Martin and Linda Keith; in-laws; Henry and Naida Warren.

Visitation will be held at C.Z. Boyer and Son Funeral Home in Desloge, Friday, August 13, 2021, from 11:00 AM until the service time of 1:00 PM.  Services will be streamed live on C. Z. Boyer & Son Facebook page. Interment will follow at St. Francois Memorial Park in Bonne Terre.
