Joan Jeanette Henson

Joan Henson, 89, of Leadwood, passed away January 3, 2026, at Mercy Jefferson in Festus. She was born February 12, 1936, in Elvins, to the late Jesse and Mabel (Sullivan) Cartee. Joan was a member of Eastside Church of God in Leadwood.

She was preceded in death by her parents, loving husband, Darliss Henson; daughter, Barbara Smith; son in-law, Dennis Bayless; brothers, Gene, Henry, Jack, Clark and Jimmy Cartee; one sister, Lillian Shipley; brothers in-law, Ken Burns, Bob Darnell and Jerry Bishop.

Joan is survived by three children, Connie Bayless, Donald Henson and wife Patty and Kenneth Henson; twelve grandchildren; seventeen great-grandchildren; siblings, Gary Cartee and wife Diane, Sue Burns, Faye Darnell and Paula Bishop.

There will be a private graveside service at Leadwood Cemetery, at a later date. Arrangements are under the direction of C.Z. Boyer and Son Funeral Home in Desloge. Memorials may be directed to Hopewell Church of God. View obituary and share condolences online at www.czboyer.com
