Joan Marie Wood, 84, of Mineral Point, passed away surrounded by her loved ones. She was born May 21, 1942, in St. Louis, to the late Walter and Florence (Cheve) Obenhaus.
Joan was an active member of the Seventh-Day Adventist Church in Farmington, prior to her declining health. She found immense comfort in reading her bible and listening to gospel music, which brought her peace and joy throughout her life. In her younger years, she enjoyed sewing.
She was preceded in death by her parents; loving husband, Vernon Wood; son, Chuckie Davis; one granddaughter, Shelby Dawn Dickie-Davis; brother, Walter Obenhaus and sister, Gerry Mayberry and husband Corkey.
Joan is survived by her three children Katrina “Kat” Davis, Dwayne Davis and Charminade Klein and husband Kenny; grandchildren, John Sawyer, Jr., Latasha Wilms (Rodney) and Tyler McCoy; great-grandchildren, Aubre Davis, Mason and Maya Sawyer, Maille and Mika Lemon and Aspen Wilms; sister, Deborah Gregory (Al); sister in-law, Terrye Obenhaus; several nieces, nephews, other family members and friends also survive.
Joan will be laid to rest with her husband at Jefferson Barracks. Memorials if desired can be made to Mid-America Transplant. Arrangements are under the direction of C.Z. Boyer and Son Funeral Home in Desloge.
