John Charles Mooring

John Mooring of Bonne Terre passed away at Parkland Hospital in Bonne Terre, December 9, 2022, at the age of 77.  He was born July 9, 1945 in Portsmouth, VA. to Meyer and Allie (Wilson) Mooring, Jr.  John attended Park Hills Church of Christ. John retired from Consolidated Freightways (C.F.) and was a member of Teamsters Local 600.

John was a big fan of the St. Louis Cardinals.  He enjoyed gardening, being outdoors and playing Wii. He was warm, considerate, respectful, helpful, and pleasant to be around. He never talked negative or said anything bad about anyone. He was always such a happy guy and could light up the room. He was a very devoted father and grandfather and looked forward to hearing from his children daily.

John was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Karion (Forrest) Mooring; siblings, Meyer A. Mooring, Richard H. Mooring, Robert Mooring and Beverly Johnson.

John is survived by his sweetheart, Paris Swofford; loving children, Kevin (Amanda) Mooring and Amanda Favre; thirteen grandchildren, Andrew, Beth Ann, Michelle, Jake, Sarah, Alex, Sara Kate, Brendan, Kayla, Peyton, Sarah, Dylan, and Chloe; three great-grandchildren, Delilah, Charlotte, and Carter; along with many nieces, nephews and friends that will dearly miss him.

Visitation will be held Thursday, December 15, 2022 from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM at C.Z. Boyer & Son Funeral Home in Bonne Terre. The visitation will resume Friday, December 16, 2022, at 9:00 AM until the time of service at 11:00 AM at the C.Z. Boyer & Son Chapel in Bonne Terre, with Pastor James Chaisson officiating.
