John F. Meyer

          John F. Meyer, age 88, of Bonne Terre passed away Sunday, October 28, 2018 at St. Joe Manor. He was born on Friday, August 29, 1930 in Bonne Terre to the late Ernest and Mabel (Blackwell) Meyer. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Marthella Meyer.  

          John was a graduate of the University of Missouri with a bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering. He worked for the Federal Aviation Administration as Denver Regional Sector Chief. He was of Baptist faith and member of the V.F.W. Post 6883 in Bonne Terre. He proudly served in the United States Air Force.

          John is survived by his loving wife Marge (Junger) Meyer; son, Michael Meyer; two daughters; Bonnie Long, Dianna MacYoung and husband Marc; step-daughter, Cheryl Hutchison; step-son, Johnathon Talbott; eleven grandchildren, RaeMarie, Romney, Rowan, Rainey, Travis, Sara, Shelby, Bridgette, Quentyn, Kalil and Jaden; one great-grandson, Phoenix; sister, Bonnie Kellums and husband Gene; niece, Kathy Sellers and husband Dennis; and many cousins and other family members survive.  

          Visitation will be held on Wednesday, October 31, 2018 at C. Z. Boyer & Son Funeral Home in Bonne Terre from 2:00 PM until 4:00 PM. Services will be held on Thursday, November 1, 2018 at C. Z. Boyer & Son Chapel at 10:00 AM with Rev. Randy Murphy officiating. Burial to follow at Saint Francois Memorial Park with full military honors. In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to the V. F. W. Post 6883 in Bonne Terre.
